Menifee Girls Softball

Menifee Girls Softball Association All-Star Program

The All-Star experience is different than our recreational spring season. While our spring season is about instruction, development and inclusion, All-Stars is about developing advanced skills and a winning attitude in a highly competitive environment. Some players thrive in this environment, while other players (and their parents) do not. It is important as parents to make this distinction for yourselves as well as your daughters. Menifee Girls Softball is committed to forming the best teams possible that will have the greatest opportunity for success. Our league attempts to keep the teams small to increase playing time. There is no guarantee of playing time or playing a specific position.

Eligibility -
Girls must be enrolled in the current Spring Season. (Only exception is for girls who played the Fall Season and played High School in Spring)
Girls must have attended 75% of Spring Season games and practices.
Girls must not be involved in any Travel Ball activities as of March 31st of the current year.

For any questions related to the Menifee Girls Softball Association All-Star program, please contact our All Star Select Coordinator, Eric Cranfill, at [email protected].

ALL-STAR PLAYER SELECTION PROCESS

Schedule

The All-Star season starts immediately after the spring recreational season ends. Teams start practicing the second week of May, and play in tournaments hosted by other local USA Softball leagues every weekend between mid-May and late June. The All-Star season culminates with USA Softball's Eastern District tournament in mid June. Teams may or may not qualify from the District tournament to go on to the USA Softball state tournament in Lancaster, which is the weekend in July 4. Girls must commit to the full practice and tournament season to be considered.

Selection Process

The All-Star Committee will select each team, with Manager input, after each evaluation day for each division. All-Star Managers will attempt to contact players and inform them of their team selection by May 7, 2023. A league representative will notifying players that were not selected. This may be done by phone or email.

Cost

The base financial commitment is $300 per player. This cost covers a high quality uniform, helmet, practice jersey, all tournament fees, and USA Softball participant player card. There is no residual profit to the league. There may be additional travel cost in the event you choose to stay in a hotel. Teams that advance to the state and/or national tournaments will incur additional fees and travel expenses.

Time and Team Commitment

Time Commitment. Teams that advance to state and/or national tournaments are expected to play until mid-July. Tournaments generally start on Fridays and end on Sundays; however all players should be available to play on all holidays. Team managers will determine the practice days. Most teams will conduct 2-3 three-hour practices per week. All-Star practices will commence on May 8, 2023.

Team Commitment. Playing time, positioning, and batting order are NOT guaranteed and may not be equal. There is a possibility that some players may not play in an entire game, as this is a competitive All-Star environment.
